Certified Surgical Technologist – PT Days – Fishers, Labor & Delivery

Schedule:

  • PT Days:  (3/12 hour shifts the 1st week & 2/12 hour shifts the 2nd week)
  • Associate Self Scheduling
  • Call Shift:  No Mandatory Call Shift Required

Preferences: 

  • Experience with Da Vinci & Laparoscopy
  • CST & BLS Certifications by time of Hire
  • Experience with L&D Cases, Scrubbing.

About the Surgery Unit:

Come work in a supportive environment with room to grow and sharpen your skill set. Labor & Delivery Surgical Specialties; Cesarean Sections, D&Cs, C/Hyst (rare). Currently planning to increase our level of care to a level II perinatal center.  Anticipate growth in future to add c/section suite and expand antepartum/postpartum rooms and increase nursery space. The hospital opened in 2013 and has been growing ever since, new equipment and facilities and experienced staff.  Strong family feel & culture among staff. 

About the Staff & Unit:

1 C/S suite on LDRP unit (Main OR is our back up c/section suite).  cesarean sections, D&Cs, C/Hyst (rare).  We staff one CST 24/7 for our LDRP unit.  We have occasional med students at Fishers but not on a regular basis.

What You Will Do

As a Certified Surgical Technologist with St. Vincent Health-IN, you will have the opportunity to facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

You will:

  • Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instruments counts throughout procedures.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • One or more of the following:
      • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
      • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required
