What You Will Do

As our Registered Nurse (RN)YOU will make an enormous impact and form strong connections with your patients and their families.  YOU will have the opportunity to provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

YOUR responsibilities will include:

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Assess patients’ actual and potential health problems/needs based upon clinical analysis, identify gaps in care, recommend interventions and assist in discharge functions with collaborating team.
  • Follows safety standards. Participates in measures to ensure quality improvement within the organization.
  • Adheres to the standards of practice and performance as defined in ANA’s “Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice”

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York State Education Department Office of Professions obtained within 2 Weeks (14 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 
  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Certified Certification credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). OR other national certifications in area of speciality recognized by ANCC that are included in the Magnet DDCT

Education & Work Experience:

  • Diploma 
  • associates in nursing required, bachelors preferred.
  • Home care experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year med-surg/hospital experience.
  • One year patient care experience preferred.
