What You Will Do
As a Patient Care Technician in the OB Triage you will work with laboring mothers from the moment they arrive at the hospital until delivery. The PCT may be required to provide transport for the patient from other areas of the hospital. You will also be responsible for helping out on the OB Triage desk. This is a fast-paced position and requires someone who can think and move quickly.
- Aids with entry and exit of patients.
- Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
- Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
- Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as maintaining medical equipment.
What You Will Need
- Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. For current incumbents as of 4/30/18, BLS required upon expiration of Heart Saver.
- One year of PCT experience is preferred.
- Experience in an Operating Room or Emergency Room environment is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required
